FRC's Values Voter Summit Hits Critical Hate Mass On Sept. 14th. Will There Be Anyone Or Anyone Left To Love?

By Rev. Dan Vojir

Come September 14th, the definition of hate may be modified: Family Research Council may cover it up as righteousness.

Hate Obama. Hate Gays. Hate the ACLU. Hate the SPLC. Hate Muslims. Hate Contraception. Hate Pro-choice. Hate Atheists. Hate Non-Christians.

Will there be anyone left to love?

Debating the right to hate has been in the news, especially after the recent shooting at the Family Research Council (OpEdNews   Chick-fil-A Comes Home To Roost). The hate, of course, has been verified by organizations such as the Southern Poverty Law Center, a group that has been monitoring hate groups for the last twenty years. From wikipedia:

A hate group is an organized group or movement that advocates and practices   hatred,   hostility, or   violence   towards members of a race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation or other designated sector of society. According to the US   Federal Bureau of Investigation   (FBI), hate groups' "primary purpose is to promote animosity, hostility, and malice against persons belonging to a race, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or ethnicity/national origin which differs from that of the members of the organization."

In the case of the FRC, its "promotion of malice" has been through the dissemination of misinformation about homosexuality and the LGBT community, Muslims, "liberals", people who are pro-choice, atheists, progressive Christians and anyone whom they consider to be non-Christian. Of course, these "promotions of malice" are proffered as "traditional values" based upon the truth.

Come September 14th, the "Righteous" Will Have Their Say

The Values Voter Summit is the brainchild of the FRC's Tony Perkins, and it has become the must-attend event for any politician needing to kiss social conservative butt. It has hosted Mitt Romney (invited to this year's event, but not yet confirmed), Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Rick Perry, Bobby Jindal and Mike Huckabee and right-wing media celebrities such as Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck and Laura Ingraham. Sean Hannity will be a featured speaker this year as well as Paul Ryan, Allen West, Michele Bachmann and (ret.) General William Boykin.

The 3-day event will feature topics such as:

SPEECHLESS?--SILENCING THE CHRISTIANS
UNDERSTANDING RADICAL ISLAM 101
PREPARING FOR THE COMING ECONOMIC EARTHQUAKE
....and everybody's favorite
ONE LIFE: 40 YEARS OF ROE V. WADE, ENDING ABORTION TODAY

And while it has been looked askance by major media sources, the FRC's Values Voter Summit is now considered as important a political tool as the Republican National Convention.

Never underestimate the power of something that considers itself the conservative's king-maker.

Keeping The Haters From Hating Each Other

As the saying goes, "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" so the unification of hate groups at the FRC's soiree can be a bit, well, bizarre: theologically speaking, some Christian movements are absolutely intolerant of other movements or sects. Mitt Romney has, in the past, been a featured speaker even though his Mormonism is considered a "cult" by Southern Baptists like the FRC's Tony Perkins. The camaraderie between the FRC and the New Apostolic Reformation* could, for example, pose a problem for devout Catholic Congressman Jeff Fortenberry (R-NE) and invited speaker Cardinal Timothy Dolan. (The NAR considers Catholic devotion to saints and the Virgin Mary "demonic"). Theologically racial tensions will may also fall to the wayside when Bishop Harry Jackson (who believes blacks are spiritually superior to whites) takes to the podium in his speech attacking the LGBT community and the evils of same-sex marriage.

Yes, so many differences, but when it comes to beating Obama, gays, Muslims, pro-choicers and secularists at the polls, who cares?

The Focal Points: Obamacare, Muslims, Gays, and Anyone "Liberal"

While the one-man attack on the Family Research Council will give speakers fodder in the "gay activists are domestic terrorists" category, Muslims and Islam will be prime targets since two of the main speakers will be Michele Bachmann and General William Boykin. Both of whom will try to divert attention to speaker Dinesh D'Souza's moderately pro-Muslim stance. And "ex-terrorist" Kamal Saleem** will be on hand to divulge the evil ways of the Muslim Brotherhood.

And From the   Schedule of Events:

REPEALING OBAMACARE
David Christensen (Moderator), Senior Director for Congressional Affairs, Family Research Council

Synopsis:   Call it a mandate, a tax, a penalty, constitutional or unconstitutional the one word that best describes it is OPPRESSIVE. States' rights, religious liberty, life, economic freedom are all sacrificed if Obamacare is allowed to go forward. Full repeal is the ONLY answer. Learn how it can be done and what you can do.
VERTICAL VOTE CAMPAIGN FOR LIFE, MARRIAGE AND RELIGIOUS LIBERTIES
Speaker: Bishop Harry Jackson, Jr., Founder, International Communion of Evangelical Churches and Senior Pastor, Hope Christian Church, Beltsville, MD (confirmed)
Synopsis:   The institution of marriage is under a barrage of attacks from certain politicians, judicial activists, and citizen advocates. Recent events including the President of the United States commenting that he supports gay marriage, instructing the Department of Justice not to enforce violations of the Defense of Marriage Act and a 9th circuit court's decision to strike down Proposition 8 in California, makes it necessary for us to act now!

Up-to-date Roster

The heavy-hitters of confirmed speakers (to date) are:

Paul Ryan, Michele Bachmann, Gary Bauer, Rick Santorum, Eric Cantor, Jim DeMint, Steve King, Jan Brewer, William Boykin, Sean Hannity, Bishop Harry Jackson, and Edwin Meese III. Lesser-knowns like Mat Staver (Liberty Counsel) and Tim Wildmon (the American Family Association, another SPLC-listed hate group), however, are considered just as important in the process of conservative king-making... and political hate.

We'll need to watch the ongoing developments of who is added to this list, who the exhibitors plan to excoriate (as they did with one year's "Obama's Waffles") ... and who they hate.

With all that profound animosity, the only things left to love may be themselves.

* The NAR is headed by Cindy Japan-is-shaped-like-a-dragon Jacobs and C. Peter Wagner, both of whom believe they are "new apostles" and can perform miracles (none of which have as yet been proved).

**According to American Muslim   Dawud Walid, Saleem's story does not add up: he is simply a born again shill for the likes of the FRC and Pat Robertson's CBN.
