Start breaking stuff-or be Forever Irrelevant

By Daily Kos

With the latest tax debacle apparently about to become law--and being lapped up by the public as a dish of sweet-and-sour pork, instead of the dish of dog poo-poo that it is, and on top of it all as some sort of "victory" for Obama over the people that put him in office, what are Progressives to do?

With the latest tax debacle apparently about to become law--and being lapped up by the public as a dish of sweet-and-sour pork, instead of the dish of dog poo-poo that it is, and on top of it all as some sort of "victory" for Obama over the people that put him in office, what are Progressives to do?

Clearly the Village has made it clear that Progressives/professional lefties/honest liberals now don't count and will never count in political calculations. Teabaggers, on the other hand, do count. The Villagers are afraid of them. President Obama is afraid of them. Therefore, it seems to me the only option for progressives at this time is to start putting a scare into the Village.

Now that even relatively astute pundits like Eugene Robinson are saying that all Progressives can do is suck it up, how can we, put the President in office and gave Democrats total control of the government (and a lot of thanks we got for that!) ever be taken seriouly again?

The diary here points the direction. My prescription is to take a leaf out of the Teabag and start wrecking these cozy political deals of the Village...whatever we can....because we can. The tax cut deal would have been ideal but that's sludge under the bridge now. However it's not too late to go into guerrilla mode against any and all "deficit peacock" bills that may come up in the new Congress. Or to loose any opportunity to rhetorically and legislatively trash anything that gets spawned by the recent sundry Catfood Commissions. In sum, just as the Teabaggers take a rejectionist position to anything progressive, Progressives should take an equally rejectionist stance against the twin cons "NeoLiberal" and "Free Market".

A note on becoming the "other"
I can anticipate that some will object that by adopting Tea Party strategies, we will become another version of "them" in all their unattractiveness. However, "they" have just grabbed half of Congress. Something about that annoying "other" is obviously working
