Painting 'The Grass'

By Merlin Flower

Painting one afternoon

::::::::

First, the background-all the left over paint from the previous creation, used. Now, we can't afford to waste things can we? But the green, if my memory serves right, was mixed to compliment the Orange which was miserable left alone.

I don't usually search for a subject to paint; just the moment's spur gets transformed onto the canvas, here old cardboard.

The grass was from the romp in the garden. It was already dead by the time I found it lying in the ground. Not a rescue, in that sense-how I wish I could say I rescued something, sigh..Anyway, the grass became my subject.

Thankfully the grass never ventured to see its resemblance created, being non-living has its advantages, for me, at least.

It was easy to paint, green, black, yellow and a dash of brown and presto, this painting born. I was singing in my mind, yes spared the listeners, and one of the tunes may be still caught up in the painting.

P.S. My sister-in-law thought I had pasted a grass, whoosh-What a compliment!
