Should Jill Stein and Rocky Anderson withdraw from the race, to avoid a repeat of 2000?

The presidential race is close enough that the candidacies of Jill Stein and Rocky Anderson could throw the election to Romney/Ryan, causing a likely ripple effects for down-ticket races.

Acknowledging Obama's many failures and sellouts, one can make a good case that he and Biden are  not as bad as Romney and Ryan, especially when it comes to women's rights, gay rights, militarism, taxation, preserving the social safety net, and appointing Supreme Court judges.   Daniel Ellsberg (no fan of Obama) made this case in Progressives: In Swing States, Vote for Obama; Noam Chomsky made similar remarks. (I made a similar case in The Myth that the Dems are as bad as the Repugs.)

On the other hand, there is no excuse for Obama's sellouts, and if progressives always vote for the lesser of two evils, that will encourage future Democratic presidents to ignore progressives' concerns.

Should Jill Stein and Rocky Anderson withdraw their candidacies to avoid a situation like the one in 2000, when Nader's candidacy contributed to Bush's eventual occupancy of the White House?

They should withdraw. Obama/Biden are way better than Romney/Ryan.
They shouldn't withdraw; Obama/Biden are worse than Romney/Ryan.
They shouldn't withdraw; we must stop voting for the lesser of two evils.
Not sure.
