Congressman Ted Deutch serves Florida's 19th District in the House of Representatives, where he is a member of the House Judiciary and Foreign Affairs Committees.
He's introduced a constitutional amendment that will end corporate personhood.
Here are very ROUGH Notes from the interview
Corporations have been occupying the nation's capitol for too long.
Does 4 things:
corporations were never meant to have the same constitutional.bbbbbbbbb as you and me.
Corporations can't use the same constitutional protections.
corporate dollars can't make expenditures in any election.
regulation of campaign
Need to keep the Koch brothers ability to spend millions of dollars.
2/3s of house and senate need pass it. Then 3/4s of states need to ratify it.
Bernie Sanders introduced our constitutional amendment in the senate as well.
Is this bi-partisan?
There's no question that this is a bi-partisan issue. But we don't have any republican supporters yet.
For profit corporations shouldn't be allowed spend their money in elections at all.

Then, when he found the process of raising people's consciousness and empowering them to take more control of their lives one person at a time was too slow, he founded Opednews.com-- which has been the top search result on Google for the terms liberal news and progressive opinion for several years. Rob began his Bottom-up Radio show, broadcast on WNJC 1360 AM to Metro Philly, also available on iTunes, covering the transition of our culture, business and world from predominantly Top-down (hierarchical, centralized, authoritarian, patriarchal, big) to bottom-up (egalitarian, local, interdependent, grassroots, archetypal feminine and small.) Recent long-term projects include a book, Bottom-up-- The Connection Revolution, debillionairizing the planet and the Psychopathy Defense and Optimization Project.
