The problem, my friends, is not confined to a few ignorant Southerners. That was a conceit of a lot of Northern liberals for many years, but we know better by now, don't we? The common expression by some 'leftist activists' that it's 'Jews' who are persecuting Palestinians makes as much sense as saying that the government excesses in Uganda under Idi Amin were the crimes of blacks. It makes as much sense as saying that the slaughter of Vietnamese people by America in the 1960s and 1970s was carried out by whites. I am white, and I was in the streets trying to stop that slaughter.
Evil policies are carried out by governments everywhere. Evil deeds can be done by people of any race, any ethnic background, any address. We are one family here. We are marooned on planet earth for reasons we don't entirely grasp ---- or for no reason at all, according to some. It might help matters if we were able to remember that.
