I remember that big bro 43 told us to wait until the Iraq Study Group's recommendations were made, that then we'd have a blueprint on how to deal with Islamic Fascists. After they disagreed with the surge W and his group of ghouls ignored them.
The May 31, 2007 article "Bush and 'Plan B-H,' meaning it's back to Baker-Hamilton" at
states "President George W. Bush said publicly last Thursday what his top aides have been discussing privately for weeks. He talked about a transition to "a different configuration" in Iraq after the current surge of US troops is completed this summer. When pressed if he was talking about a post-surge Plan B, Bush answered: "Actually, I would call that a plan recommended by Baker-Hamilton, so that would be a Plan B-H."
W rejected it earlier but with W words have no meaning as "Let's make sure we've got that right: This would be the same Baker-Hamilton plan whose authors were lampooned by the conservative New York Post last December as "surrender monkeys"? The same Baker-Hamilton report that seemed to be all but buried by Bush's January embrace of a surge of 30,000 more US troops into Iraq?"
Back when he pronounced his adherence to the "surge" he refused to have negotiations with terrorists and states supporting them such as Iran. Now he sees diplomatic discussions with Iran to be imperative as he wants "Operation Iraqi Freedom" to ruin the next president's term. It states "While the Democratic leadership isn't likely to join Bush in a top-down push for consensus, White House officials hope that by embracing Baker-Hamilton, they can begin to build out from a new center. The goal is a policy that has broad enough support that it could last into the next administration. The best hope for pulling off this three-cushion shot lies, paradoxically, in the diplomatic discussions with Iran that began Monday in Baghdad. Sources say that during their four-hour meeting, Crocker and his Iranian counterpart described in almost identical terms the two countries' shared interest in the success of Iraq's Shiite-led government.
Crocker insisted that the Iranians back up those words with deeds - by halting the shipment of deadly projectile bombs and the training of Shiite militiamen in their use. If Tehran takes that step, then Plan B-H may be for real.
What's needed is time: Iran's deputy foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, seemed to recognize that when he told The Financial Times recently, "Yes, immediate withdrawal could lead to chaos, civil war, could turn Iraq into a failed state. This is a fact. No one is asking for immediate withdrawal of foreign forces from Iraq."
Syria's foreign minister, Walid al-Moallem, told me last December that a quick US withdrawal would be "immoral." But do US politicians agree? We'll find out this summer."
Last week Washington D.C. froze with blocks and blocks of it cordoned off. The truly terrified minority of us thought that terrorists had released some poisonous gas. I heard people screaming that if the commie-pinko liberals hadn't tied W's hands behind his back then attacks like this wouldn't be occurring. I thought the fear reminded me of how the Communists would take Vietnam, then Australia and then be in the streets of the US.
It turned out to be 4 suspicious looking, unaddressed boxes. 4 boxes freeze a portion of the US capital between the Capitol and the White House for three hours, causing mass evacuations of US government buildings. How does that happen? W has caused mass hysteria that even Tricky Dick would be jealous of.
All of the conversations about GWOT has caused the outbreak of copycat terror plans such as the JFK plot.
Don't ask for whom the bell tolls for it tolls for us all. We have given up living in the "home of the brave" because some of us are convinced that only big bro 43 can protect us from his nameless extremist Islamic jihadists, our enemies in his GWOT.
All W can do is sacrifice more of our troops. Just as Nixon sacrificed young US soldiers, W is now-for the sole purpose of achieving GOP political gain. The apathetic few-W's intended audience, love voting GOP when they have been backed into a corner of patriotism and fear due to GOP fear-mongering propaganda.
Just how huge of an atrocity is W perpetrating in Iraq? The May 18, 2007 article "Iraqis in besieged city struggle to survive" at
states "Abu Mahmoud says an 11-day curfew in the Iraqi city of Samarra has pushed his family's survival skills to the limit as supplies of food, medicine and fuel dwindle alarmingly....
Since U.S. and Iraqi forces imposed a curfew and sealed off the city following a suicide bomb attack that killed 12 police officers on May 6, residents are struggling to find basic goods."
Over 2 million Iraqis have fled their country and over 1and ½ million others
have given up their possessions and homes to move to an Iraqi area that their sect has dominance in. One poor soul "Abu Khalid, a 55-year-old businessman and father of five who fled sectarian violence in Baghdad to settle in Samarra, is now looking to move again.
"This punishment resembles a death sentence against an entire population," he said. "I'm really thinking of leaving Iraq even if I had to live in a tent ... at least that's better than this life."
Imagine the level of despair that that family has endured. If that family has children just why wouldn't they want revenge against the infidels-us by the way, who put their family into this plight?
Don't ask for whom the bell tolls for it tolls for us all. Years ago, when he was discussing the "slog" Rumsfeld wondered if we were creating more terrorists as a result of the "Shock and Awe" and occupations in Afghanistan and Iraq then we were murdering. Isn't it ironic that "slog" was changed into a similar word "surge"? GOP ghouls want it to be easily for the apathetic red staters to comprehend.
The article "Time running out to end crisis in Middle East, says King of
states King Abdullah II, "the Sandhurst-trained Jordanian monarch, who served in the British Army, is particularly concerned about the fallout from Iraq. His country of five million is already host to 750,000 Iraqis and if the violence increases the refugee numbers will swell.
"What we have seen in Iraq is a steady burn. If it was to go to civil war, then it would likely extend beyond the borders. It is a Pandora's Box," he said. "If there was an escalation and an exodus of more Iraqis to Jordan, that would be very damaging . . .
"You have to be there to support the people who are suffering. You have to balance the need to be there to help with being vigilant against destabilising your own country."
