Hot Story! Marine General Peter W. Pace Resigns as Chairman of Joint Chiefs! As I sarcastically predicted earlier this week, right on target as always. You saw it here on Opednews first, right? I saw it first on TV heard it on the radio and then called friends and congress offices, and they all said, "Is this the Bagnolo that predicted the death of Fallwell two days before he died?" I said "well I did ask him to repent." They answered, "err, we have a cold and must hang up sir, but we love you. CLICK! Gates Recommends Bush Nominate Adm. Michael G. Mullen for Job Today Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates announced that Marine General Peter W. Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, would resign in September, which is the end of his two-year term. Gates claims he made the decision to sidestep a difficult series of re-nomination hearings before the Democratically-controlled Congress. The announcement was claimed as a surprise but not to me. Please recall my article which stated that: "The Joint Chiefs of Staff, who desires diplomacy over attack, supposedly supports the fantasy Bush decision not to attack Iran." http://www.opednews.com/articles/opedne_professo_070605_entropy_2c_the_quantum.htm Pace will be removed from the country's top military position having served only two years as chairperson, which is the shortest tenure anyone has served in that position in 43 years. Moreover, since 1949, at least 16 chairmen have served a minimum of four years. It is my guess that others of the Joint Chiefs of Staff who were not supporters of the attack on Iran will conveniently step down as well Gates said he requested that President Bush nominate Admiral Michael G. Mullen, chief of naval operations, as the next chairperson of the Joint Chiefs to succeed Pace. Admiral Mullen has the longest tenure of the Service Branch Chiefs of Staff. Gates admitted that political considerations were at the root of his decision. He spoke to "leaders" in congress and they told him that re-nomination hearings probably would focus on the Iraq war and could be a "very contentious process." During a news conference at 1 p.m. in the Pentagon, Gates said that, "The events of the last several months have simply created an environment where I think there would be a confirmation process that would not be in the best interests of the country. I am disappointed that circumstances make this kind of a decision necessary." Yeah, like anything the Neo-coans have done in nearly six years is in the best interests of anyone but the Military, Medical, Industrial Complex.

Just a few weeks after 9/11, Pace took over as Vice Chairperson of the Joint Chiefs. He has remained in the thick of developing policy for the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Pace followed the resignation of General Richard B. Myers in September 2005. He is one of the remnants of former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's tenure at the Pentagon. Following Pace out of the JCS, at the end of his own term, will be Edmund Giambastiani, Vice-Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, also no surprise to me. Soon now Bush/Cheney will be running out of sycophantic, unconscionable, military, and will probably be calling local Boy Scout offices to ask if any Eagle Scouts would like to serve on the JCS. This clears the way for Gates to appoint an entire leadership team of Bush sycophants who will go along with anything Bush Cheney come up with, maybe even attacking Canada or New York City, or whatever team has beaten the Texas Ranger baseball Team too often. Gates has recommended that Marine General James Cartwright be placed in nomination to replace Edmund Giambastiani. Gates claims his decision has "absolutely nothing to do with" performance but instead on counsel he received from Congress. He, however did not name the "congress" people he relied upon, I wonder if there were anyone like Denis Kucinich, or Senator Durbin, or Senator Schumer, Naw! Most likely it was primarily ... oh, come on you know who it was, don't you? Let's see, Rove/Cheney?? Naw, really? Naw I refuse to believe that nonsense, they aren't "congress" people! Well, what the heck, did you really expect the Main Stream Media Whores (MSMW) to supply names, and other details that would reflect badly on the Neo-cons? Well, if so, tell me one thing these last five or six years that has not reflected badly on the either the MSMW or the Neo-cons?
