Rush is Not Hampered by Integrity or Morality

After Joe McCarthy asked for William F. Buckley to defend him against Ed Murrow's charges, the CBS chairman Bill Paley said no. The Republicans have enjoyed media superiority for 40 years. Their market research, advertising, packaging and [CIA] information control are superb. Rush Limbaugh is a great communicator.

Barack Obama is a fine orator, but his integrity and morality hamper his efforts before the public. He continues to say things the public does not want to hear. The President must press forward with transparency.

Americans Should Grow Up

Last fall auto sales slumped. The lie spread there was a credit crunch. Quickly, the government baled out the banks and the auto makers that failed to pass the new monies to the consumer.

Home buyers had accepted the myth that housing prices always went up. It was always possible to overpay for a lemon property and still make a profit. Undoubtedly, an even bigger sucker would happen along to take the lemon off your hands.

Housing prices dipped below the mortgage amount owed.

The Valhalla of greed known as the stock market collapsed.

The consumers stopped visiting the auto showrooms and the temples of retailing. They were fearful and pessimistic. They had a right to be.

Asia Took a Nose Dive

The Growth of Cartels

Such large firms as Monsanto and Cargill colluded with the IMF and the WTO to take control of food production and distribution. By the 1960's many nations had ameliorated the plight of small farms by teaching modern techniques and by improving institutions of processing, pricing and distribution. Several countries alleviated famine conditions to the point of being able to export commodities.

As you describe, the food cartels forced farmers out of traditional seed production. Along with this, they organized huge fleets for shipment tying up distribution. They bribed agricultural authorities to close the practices aimed at small producer production. The seized farmland and ran ever bigger operations. They did this to suppress competition. They lowered prices until they drove local farmers out of business.

Internationally, they limited self-sufficiency to a few areas. Essentially, they determined which nations would be exporters and which would be net importers. They have the power to ruin farmers and their countries too. When rice prices tripled, nobody could do anything about that deplorable situation.

As Asian exports failed, it revealed their problem of export-led growth. They had become too dependent on Western consumption.
