Molly the Robin

My name is Molly and I am a robin. As I fly over your country, mine too, I see many things. I have been on a vacation visiting the Adirondack Mountains before flying south for the winter. I learned to think a short time ago by seeing myself in car door mirrors. I am a mother who has had several broods of hatchlings. At first I did not think at all, but seeing myself in mirrors sparked my brain and I have been reading everything about this wonderful country in local school libraries. A fellow wrote about me in Animal Park. He only got half the story right as most people do because you humans think you are not as bad as you really are or not as good as you think you are. The other half I'll have to tell you myself. Well, that's another story.

Since learning how to think I've learned an awful lot traveling around the country and getting my news and information from public libraries. There's a game you people play called twenty-one questions. Here's twenty-one lessons learned from your Ruling Political Parties:

1. Invading and Occupying Foreign Countries is Effective Foreign Policy
2. Enormous and Unsustainable Government Debt is an Effective Way to Lead the Nation
3. Export Employment with Favorable Tax Laws is Good government policy
4. Promote Outsourcing of Services with Favorable Tax Laws is Good Government policy
5. Allowing Pharmaceutical Companies to Advertise Prescription Drugs on Public Airwaves Provides for the Health Care of the American People
6. Pre-emptive Wars are Valid and Appropriate Conduct for Democracies
7. The Radicalism of Osama bin Laden is Eliminated or Decreased by Pre-Emptive wars
8. Ignore the Negative Repercussions of Pre-Emptive Wars Because They Cannot Be Measured
9. Remove and Reduce Health Care Costs from Corporations by Giving Them Favorable Tax Laws to Produce Products and Services Overseas
10. Allow Public Airwaves to Make Enormous Profits Without providing adequate Facts and Information on Vital Economic, Social, Legal, Foreign and Domestic policies affecting the Nation, such as the Depth and Scope of Corruption in U.S.government Contracting & programs and precisely identifying accountability
11. Provide Means Testing for Military Veterans for Health Care but not for Elected Officials
12. Allow the Social Security number to be Combined with Credit Reports for better tracking of individuals without concern for making Identity Theft Easy and Creating Adverse Credit Ratings for Citizens
13. Allow Employers to Use Credit rating for Assessing the Character of Prospective Employees (some of your Founding Fathers went bankrupt so their characters would probably make them bad employee prospects today)
14. Tailoring Legislation to Corporations that is Detrimental to the Entire Citizenry is the Norm (examples are too numerous to mention)
15. Creating Laws Limiting Freedom and Strengthening Police and Government Over the Citizenry is the Norm (examples are too numerous to mention)
16. Creating and Developing a Legal System that is Slow and Cumbersome when Citizens have been Harmed by Defective Products and Services
17. Creating and Developing a Legal System where the Death of Government Employees requires the Death Penalty but is Optional or Unnecessary when a Citizen is Murdered
18. Strengthening Democracy and Freedom is Seldom the Goal in Laws and Regulations
19. The Role of Government is to Play Favorites in Legislation and Funding Because the Ruling Political Parties are more about Remaining in Power than Allowing the Citizenry to Decide Where their Resources will be Directed
20. By Cementing Themselves to the Constitution and its Authority the Two Ruling Political Parties make themselves the Final Arbiters of America's Future
21. Constricting Freedom and Democracy is Necessary by the Ruling Political Parties, for it Prevents the Full Flowering of a People, Culture and Business because government Control is the Most Important Concept

Well, I'll be flying off now, for there are many public and school libraries to visit to obtain all the news and information I need to be a good robin in my country. You know, my ancestors were here before yours. You know, a properly managed national health care system would probably be a major boost to small businesses, which is the backbone of your economy. Well, I guess that's not all that important after all.
