House Passes Measure to End Net Neutrality
http://thehill.com/blogs/hillicon-valley/technology/154957-house-passes-measure-to-repeal-net-neutrality

On the same day as the opening of  conference in Boston in support of Net Neutrality and related issues, the House voted to let the Verizons and Comcasts do what they want... incidentally, with virtually no competition.

http://conference.freepress.net/program-overview

Though Obama has repeatedly said he'd veto any weakening of Net Neutrality, count the number of promises he's made that have been broken...often making things worse.  An easier job is counting promises kept.    And Obama's staff has been back-pedaling on support for net neutrality for a while.
The odds are very good that  Obama  will "reconsider" this promise thus, with that tax-funded "investment" expansion of broadband, use our money to hand millions customers over to private web providers ...exactly  as he's trying to do with the handover of up to 50 million new customers to private health insurers.     (Search "Obama broadband investment".)

If it's an "investment"...that's about money and profits, not likely about free speech and access to alternative news and opinion.
