Keith Olbermann was fired by MSNBC, is anyone really surprised by that? Really? Edward R. Murrow was fired, Hunter S. Thompson was fired, anyone with an inch of backbone or an ounce of credibility will get fired. The late Tim Russert once said, "Integrity is for paupers." When Russert passed on to his eternal reward NBC put on a mourning show designed to make us think that Elvis had died and had taken Mother Teresa and Princess Diana with him.
This is a show, the media creates a stage play. Anyone
who dares to deviate from the script will be shown the door. This is
Big Brother's box and it airs only Big Brother's message. Olbermann
is far, far removed from Edward R. Murrow and I doubt that Hunter
Thompson would even take Olbermann seriously, but their crimes are
the same. They cracked open a window of light that exposed the
hypocrisy of the finger puppet stage play that you are being shown on
a daily basis.
Saddam's WMD's, Islamic Terrorist's, Red
scare's, missile gaps, it appears that the state of Florida will go
into the Bush column. It is the illusion of a free press, the press
is so free that none dare call it treason. John McCain was invited as
a guest on Meet the Press all the time, so why not Michael Moore? Why
not Noam Chomsky?
If you look on a world map, you will find
that the nation of Iran is surrounded by US military forces. US
and European nations met in Turkey last week with Iran's top nuclear
negotiator Saeed Jalili. Under the flag of the United Nations, they
began negotiations with the premise that Iran must give up its goal
of enriching uranium for its nuclear program. Or to look at it
another way, Iran must admit that it is wrong and do what it is told.
Iran is a signatory of the nuclear non-proliferation treaty. Under
the terms of that treaty, Iran not only has a legal right to enrich
uranium but the right to demand assistance from other members
including the United States.
General Electric wants to sell nuclear power plants to India and under the terms of the last agreement, nuclear inspectors would have the right to inspect only two thirds of the reactors in India. Which reactors inspected would be left up to the Indian government. This sham of a deal is illegal under the terms of the nuclear non-proliferation treaty. That doesn't bother the United States one wit, because India never signed the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and neither did Pakistan.
Fidel Castro is portrayed as a horrible communist dictator who abused and tortured his people and denied them religious liberty. Chinese Priemer Hu is an honored state guest, one of America's greatest friends and partners. Hugo Chavez is a villain who institutes bank reform and raises taxes on banks while Hamid Karzai is a freedom fighter trying to set up democracy among the heathen terrorist states of the Middle East.
Chavez is labeled a dictator and Karzai is called Mr. President, if Fidel Castro had opened up Cuba to American style Capitalism and Cuban workers had labored for pennies an hour in American owned sweatshops, what would the American media call him today?
Who is Iran's chief political rival in the region? It isn't Israel, Iranians are not Arabs, they are Persians. They are a peaceful nation that has not started a war in generations. Iran's chief political rival in the region is Saudi Arabia. The Saudi's are very rich but have a small population. The Iranians are also very rich but have a much larger population. The Saudi's are a kingdom ruled by an oligarchy The Iranian's are an Islamic Republic ruled by a religious oligarchy. These two nations compete for dominance in the region, they are the two big boys on the block. One is a close ally of the US while one is ostracized and demonized by western media.
Israel? Israel sees its nuclear monopoly threatened by a nuclear Iran and will go to any lengths to preserve it. There is a true irony in this belief, not only the belief that a nuclear exchange could be successful, but that Israel could survive politically in such a case. It is a doomsday scenario, where if Israeli armies faced defeat on the home front they would then threaten or commit a nuclear strike upon the attacking nation. Did the Wehrmacht's carnage against the Russians demoralize the Soviet soldier? Or did the carnage motivate him to give back more than full measure?
The media creates good guys and bad guys, tin pot Latin American dictators who do as they're told and let the sweat shops operate unmolested who are then allowed to loot and steal all they can carry. While President Zaleya of Honduras was ostensibly overthrown for trying to become a dictator. For offering a non-binding referendum to which Zaleya himself was exempt. It was instead more about Zaleya raising the minimum wage and having friendly relations with Hugo Chavez.
This formula of demonization is repeated over and over, its purposes are to protect the interests of America's powerful. The Honduran Supreme court upheld the injunction against letting the people vote in a non-binding resolution just as our own Supreme Court struck down the ruling of the Florida Supreme Court with the embarrassing caveat of, just this once.
"War is just a racket. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of people. Only a small inside group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few at the expense of the masses.
I believe in adequate defense at the coastline and nothing else. If a nation comes over here to fight, then we'll fight. The trouble with America is that when the dollar only earns 6 percent over here, then it gets restless and goes overseas to get 100 percent. Then the flag follows the dollar and the soldiers follow the flag.
I wouldn't go to war again as I have done to protect some lousy investment of the bankers. There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket.
There isn't a trick in the racketeering bag that the military gang is blind to. It has its "finger men" to point out enemies, its "muscle men" to destroy enemies, its "brain men" to plan war preparations, and a "Big Boss" Super-Nationalistic-Capitalism."
