Your country needs you Mr. President. I call you Mr. President because we all now know that you really did win the 2000 election. We all now know that the accusations they perpetrated against you during that campaign were nothing but lies. We know about Love Story, about Love Canal, and about the "invention of the Internet." We know the corporate media did a job on you sir and in the end, they allowed a fake news channel to erroneously steal the election from you. We also know that when the recount was warranted, they sent hired thugs down to pretend to be outraged citizens. We know the truth behind the hanging chads sir.

Your country needed you then sir, but it needs you more now. It needs you to turn around the nation after the worst presidency in our history. This presidency that never should have been. It needs you to stop this war and stop it now. No more playing politics by both sides. No more pretension. No more blood on our hands as history is written around us. Your country needs you to launch serious investigations into the lead-up to the war, the fake intelligence, war profiteering, the Valerie Plame saga, the Downing Street Memos, and yes, even 911. Your country needs you because we need the truth after 7 years of lies upon lies.

Your country needs you sir because of the damage that has been done to our own country as well. The damage to our educational system through an unfunded No Child Left Behind Act, as well as egregious cuts to Pell Grants and financial aid. Our own country sir has seen fiscal insanity reign as the rich become richer and the middle class has been nearly obliterated. We need you to restore fiscal sanity to our country. We need you to care about the millions of uninsured citizens in this country, allow sane prescription drug policies, and truly examine Medicaid and Social Security.

Your country needs you Mr. Gore because of the damage done to our planet in your absence. We need you because there are people like James Inhofe on the other side of the argument that are so stupid in their defense of the indefensible that they are dangerous. We need you to care about the planet we leave to our children, and their children. We need facts from scientists, not rhetoric from ideologues designed to muddy the picture. We need the truth sir.

Your country needs you Mr. President because as a candidate you would be a slam dunk. Your character would now be unassailable, because all of the previous lies about you have been debunked. Your demeanor will be far more relaxed because you have survived the debacle of 2000. Your credibility would be unimpeachable because most Americans will correctly recognize that you should have been the president for the past seven years, not the nightmare we have endured. People will not buy the corporate spin this time, they will gladly vote for the man they know really won already, and look forward to you cleaning up the mess you did not create.

I understand that you probably do not want to run again. I am sure that 2000 left quite bitter taste in your mouth. I am sure the lies they told about you has calloused you sir but I would appeal to your sense of public service. I would appeal to your general sense of what is right and what is wrong. The soldiers of this country need a leader who understands that you do not lie a country into a war and unnecessarily kill over 3,000 of them. The middle class needs a leader who will stand up for them and fight against the special interests of the ruling elite. The children of America need a leader that will actually fund the education initiatives that he passes. The college students of this country need a leader who will not sell out their futures for a tax cut to the wealthy. The common citizens of this world need a leader who will actually lead in the fight to preserve our precious planet. The leader they need, the leader we need sir, is you. We need you because you are not part of the establishment anymore. We need you because your character will not be in question. We need you because you were made for a moment such as this sir. To end wars. To save lives. To restore America.

Run Al, run.
