Where are the grown-ups?

israel and Palestine cannot extricate themselves from this current conflagration.
Others must come in to end it. The US should be talking with Iran.
Too bad israel doesn't want that. Too bad Israel killed the guy they were negotiating peace with. Netanyahu tried to interfere in the US presidential elections. He is not a man to be trusted, not a man the US should be handing billions of dollars over to.

CNN's poll, reported yesterday, showed that only 41% of Democrats believe Israel is justified in its actions. Republicans support Israel big time.

The thing is, The Republicans lost . Obama should be taking a very different message from this poll. He should be telling Israelis, who are in the middle of their own elections, that Netanyahu showed his colors, destroyed his relationship with the US, and that, if Israelis want the continued financial aid and good will of the US-- led by a Democratic party elected president, they must repudiate the right wing, dishonest, war criminal who is seeking re-election.

Why should the US support an extreme right wing, war mongering Israeli administration?
It is time for the left to speak out and make it clear to Obama and the Democratic leadership that the old AIPAC playbook is no longer acceptable.
