For years, I've wanted to have a quotation database that really does a great job of storing and sorting quotations.

Now, OpEdNEws has one-- a powerful one that should prove valuable to writers of all stripes. It incorporates a lot of ideas seen on the web and some new ones. We're hoping that YOU will use it for YOUR favorite quotes and to find quotes to spice up your writing and speaking, or just use it to explore how brilliant minds have thought about ideas that affect us all.

I've long had my own site for quotations, quotationscentral.com/, but it is not database driven.

I've grabbed a few quotes from the web on Quotations like,
Proverbs are always platitudes until you have personally experienced the truth of them. ~Aldous Huxley
You can add your favorite quotations easily by logging in to your member account, then clicking on the MY QUOTATIONS/SAYINGS tab. Then you can add quotes.

Or go to your member page and click on the quotations tab to see which quotations you've submitted or favorited. None in there yet? Get cracking. It's quick and easy to add quotes to the database. We're looking for volunteers to load them in. We have plenty to work on if you don't have your own. Drop me a line if you're interested.

We'd like to have a few hundred by the end of the month, a thousand by the end of this year and at least 10,000 by the end of next year.

Want to see the newest quotations that have been submitted-- scroll down the front page to find the QUOTATIONS column.

If you find a quote you like, you can favorite it and it will be included on your member page among your favorited quotes.

Have suggestions on how you'd like the quotation database to work, things you'd like it to do? Drop me a note and we'll seriously consider them.
