It seems that many Democrats are deluding themselves that the only choice Democrats have is to run with Obama.
I say that the only chance they have if they run with Obama is the same thing that happened to George Herbert Walker Bush when he ran for a second term. He handed the presidency to the opposition.

Obama Will not Win a Second Term. The question is, will he go the path of LBJ or Bush 41?
(Obama image from C-span youtube, LBJ image from Wikipedia, Bush 41 image from White House youtube.)
I say that even if Obama runs and squeaks by with a win because the Republicans were unable to select a non-troglodyte for a candidate he will have no coat-tails. Let me repeat. If Obama runs, he will have no coat-tails. He will fail to help Senate and House candidates. He will fail to help state candidates. If he runs there will be no enthusiasm, no energy that lifts the boats of other democratic candidates.
I'll repeat what I said in my last article. There is the Obama Delusion Mantra that the Democrats who apologize for and support Obama all repeat, as though they're in a trance; "He did the best he could given the situation."
I challenge that claim. I say that is an outright lie. Obama has repeatedly made decisions that were not based on the Republican opposition. He has repeatedly been a first down punter, giving away negotiation room by offering a weak, settling for less deal right out of the gate. He has repeatedly maintained and even made worse Bush policies that fly in the face of Democratic values.
Every day, new polls come out showing that Obama is doing worse and worse. People like him as a person, but he's bombing as a president, as a leader as someone to deal with the economic problems this nation faces.
I've been saying Obama is a failure as a leader for at least eighteen months. When I do, there is always someone to remind me that it's worse than that. He's a turncoat who has betrayed the principles of the Democratic party, appointing right wingers, banksters, neoliberal Dwight Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, even Ronald Reagan would have been more liberal than Obama. The tragedy is that as the leader of the Democratic party he is dragging the party further and further to the right. This is a massive betrayal that is exacerbated by the failure of most of the Democratic members of the House and Senate to speak out and stand up to Obama's Republicanesque policies and positions. It is no excuse that the Republicans are even further right.
Today, there's more news from Gallup that even support among Blacks and Latinos has hit an all time low.
It's time for Obama apologist Democrats, the ones using the Obama Delusion mantra, to face the reality that Obama will, if he runs for a second term, walk the path of George Herbert Walker Bush and Jimmy Carter.
Obama apologists argue that Carter lost because he was primaried by Ted Kennedy. I say Carter lost because the Democratic party failed to have the guts to switch horses when the signs were clear. We can learn from history. If we fail to, then Obama will join the ranks of defeated incumbent presidential candidates.
This week, Obama betrayed us by nullifying new, tougher EPA rules, dropping them to worse levels than even Bush approved. Deep in your heart you know he will betray Democratic values and stands on issues again and again. I did polls on progressive, left of Democrat site Opednews.com , and on Dailykos , asking whether respondents thought Obama would move left or right if he wins a second term. At Opednews, only 18% thought he'd move to the left. Twenty five percent thought he'd stay the same and 50% thought he'd move further to the right.
At dailykos, where the bloggers are more loyal to the Democratic party, even there, only 34% thought Obama would move further left. Thirty two percent thought he'd move further right and 31% thought he'd stay the same.
To put it another way, at Dailykos, 63% predicted Obama would stay the same or worse and at Opednews, 75% predicted he'd stay the same or get worse.
