When I asked a little kid playing in the street unaware of his future, he showed optimism. The little kid's optimism has given me new hope. There will be no denying the fact that the real problem of Pakistan and Afghanistan is the rampant corruption. Corruption gives birth to terrorism. This war on terrorism initiated by former US President George W. Bush can only be won if Obama keeps concentration on purging both Afghanistan and Pakistan of corruption.
There will be no denying the fact that democracy is the best option for controlling terrorism both in Pakistan and Afghanistan. But that democracy will be of the people. The people must be empowered in those countries as this is the only solution to the present problem.
Elders of tribal areas still favor the direct intervention of the United States as both leaders of Pakistan and Afghanistan have been promoting terrorism. Terrorism is the only justification for these leaders to keep themselves in power.
