America is facing a very different Labor day this year, with unions under full frontal assault, unemployment at horrific levels and less than 50% of Americans holding full time jobs.

The wealthiest one percent control over 40% of the wealth in the nation. Right wingers are trying to privatize everything-- schools, the postal system, the space program. Take a look at that space program. The latest rocket that was supposed to supply the space station crashed and now, they're talking about whether the US will even continue to participate in it. There has always been post-apocalyptic science fiction that characterizes a world that abandoned space exploration and space flight. We are, as the US becomes more and more a third world nation, seeing it become a reality. Just take a walk outside, drive a few miles from where you live and you will see rusting bridges, cracked, pot-holed roads, crumbling pavements.

America is declining and it is part of a master plan. There's no one-world conspiracy here. Multi-national corporate globalists are doing all they can to maximize their wealth and profits. It's that simple. The middle class and most of humanity don't fit into that equation.

It might be better to convert "Labor day" to be a historic holiday, commemorating when the American worker was valued and honored, rather than now, when corporations are doing all they can to retire American workers, replacing them with off shored, outsourced slave wage laborers.

It is pretty clear that the majority of the Democrats are aiding and abetting the multinational corporations in wiping out the remaining strengths of the middle class. Obama is clearly a part of the team that is waging war on the middle class. To keep the remaining Obama loyalists who choose to deceive themselves into believing that Obama is a good guy, a loyal Democrat, he occasionally gets behind diluted social projects-- legislation, orders-- that keeps them addicted to their deluded fantasies, so they can keep repeating the "Obama Delusion Mantra" to themselves "Obama did what he could, considering the situation."

This is a powerful mantra that works very effectively. But more and more people who voted for Obama are waking up to the reality that Obama is not operating as a Democrat. If he wins, then the Republicans win. He IS a republican.

This is a sad Labor day. But perhaps, if we face the betrayal of those we thought were on our side we can make some progress.  The people still do have the power, if they wake up and choose to use it.

There are no political parties out there that unflinchingly support social and ecological justice, that defend the middle class. We are on our own, almost. These are dark times.

There are a handful of sites that write about it and support action.

Now is the time to support us, them. The future of the middle class, perhaps of humanity, depends upon it.

It's time to do something. Wake people up, support the media voices that are telling the truth and calling for action. Take action.

We know that we're losing readers who unquestioningly support Obama. But we'll keep telling the truth, calling it as we see it, giving voice to patriotic American progressives and democratic voices of liberation all over the world.
