Members of the U. S. military are dying in Afghanistan for America's rights.
BP is controlling American journalists' access to oil spill sites.
America's free press is dead and gone.
We intended to write a column asking why should they die for a right that's gone with some additional verbiage explaining how the medical concept of "phantom limb" can be applied metaphorically to the idea of a free press being part of Americans' right to Fee Speech. The teabaggers response to that analogy would probably be to ask this insightful question: "What's an analogy?"
People who believe in a free press know what's happening and the others who believe every word they hear on Fox News will never figure out what's happening.
Teabaggers won't see any correlation between a newspaper risking its existence to publish the Pentagon Papers in the past and letting the Bush Family set their editorial guidelines in this decade.
The second annual <a href =http://www.superherosf.com/>Super Hero Street Fair</a> will be held in San Francisco, on Saturday, July 10, 2010. We intend on going and taking photos to post on our photo blog. You get in cheaper if you dress up as a super hero. Clark Kent was a super hero wasn't he? Might just as well cover that as write about an American right no one cares about.
Maybe while we're doing that the Columbia Review of Journalism can explain to the teabaggers just what BP is doing to freedom of the press as well as explain the meaning of the expression "<a href =http://www.wordspy.com/words/jumptheshark.asp>jumped the shark</a>."
Would it be easier for conservatives to cancel freedom of the press and then ask for forgiveness rather than seeking permission to do so ahead of time?
So have you seen <a href =click here;Clint Webb's campaign</a> video to become a U. S. Senator?
Louis G. Carroll wrote: "Why sometimes, I've believed as many as six impossible tings before breakfast." Why not make that Fox News' motto?
Now the disk jockey will play the album "Original Music from Tales from the Crypt," and the theme music from the "Twilight Zone" and The Zombie's Greatest Hits' Album. We have to go warm up the Batmobile. Have a "Great Caesar's Ghost!" type week.
