Hello! Anybody home?

Anybody here know there is another UN (that stands for United Nations) climate change negotiation ending in two days. This year held in Doha, the capital of Qatar, a small island country with the highest per capita CO2 pollution in the world.  Per capita means per person, and Qatar is a small, very rich, country with very few people. Probably our media have not covered any of it.  Democracy Now has: Amy Goodman is there, in person, interviewing people. She interviewed the American representative. "Interview" is hardly the word. She asked the US representative (a man whose name I had never seen in print or heard about) what his instructions were. He answered Amy's question with a two minute speech that he is doing what he is supposed to do. He did not specify what that is.

Today Amy mentioned that the talk in Doha is bitter about the United States, unwilling to make any attempts to do anything about reducing carbon dioxide and other polluting gases that are causing climate change.  Apparently even in Doha people know of the infamous Koch brothers, a pair of the oil billionaires who are actively suppressing any efforts to stop using oil. America is getting to be a swear word in all developing nations. And that includes China and India. They say to us and to the Europeans: YOU DID IT, YOU FIX IT.

But we don't want to stop burning oil and coal and so=called natural gas which is as natural as oil and coal. It is how we get it out of the ground that destroys large chunks of the planetary ecology, and how we burn it that destroys the atmosphere and causes global warming. YES, WE CAUSE IT. We, Americans, Canadians, Europeans,  but mostly Americans.  We are 4% of the world population and spew 25% of what the entire world spews into the atmosphere. 4% does a quarter of the lethal damage.

You can proclaim you don't believe in global warming. There are people who don;t believe in dying either. There are obviously still people who believe that white people are better than any colored ones. Useless to argue with belief, right? Just as it is useless to argue with people who believe money is everything. Money is an illusion. Power is an illusion. But delusional thinking is destroying this beautiful world. I guess I have to accept that we humans are" what? Insane? Yes, at least those who hold us all in control are insane.

The very first law of all LIFE is procreate, see to it that LIFE continues. But we, humans, know better. We think we must control Life, people, countries, the whole world. Ultimate arrogance.

Some, a very few, humans have amassed so much money, that is power, that they think they can deny the first law of LIFE. Strangely, it is those who proclaim they are pro-life by prohibiting any form of abortion who are also the ones who are locking in enormous efforts to make the planet unlivable, unfit for humans to live on, in.

I cannot imagine that the Koch brothers and others do not know what climate change scientists have been telling us for 40 years.  I find it very difficult to believe that they don't believe that climate change is here, and getting worse. What do the very rich, a tiny tiny percentage of all humans, want? More? You can't take it with you. What do you do with 60 billion dollars? Destroy the planet, kill the human race and half of all other life forms. Why? What do we as a country want with half of our budget spent on arms and armies (and  I bet it is our various wars that use at least half of the oil we burn)? Why would we want to control the entire planet? We say to prevent another 9/11.

Come on people, wake up.  Fighting so-called terrorists with drones and secretive attacks makes more terrorists. Every innocent child we kill makes all his brothers and sisters terrorists who want to kill us.  And we all pray to our gods to help us get rid of those who hate us. Did not our God tell us, in all languages, many times, that we should not do to others what we don't want those others to do to us . All religions say that, in one form or another.

And we do the opposite. We do to them exactly what we don't want them to do to us

That is stupid, even insane.
