This research this article describes appears to attempt to identify cynicism and contempt for politicians, the media and so on as as a kind of behavioral problem or phenomena that threatens 'democracy'... Rather than looking at societal processes like increasing governmental authoritarianism and habitually lying media as possibly the cause of a wee bit o' contempt?.. I think I'm feeling a bit of contempt for the research.
