The worst of both privacy and accountability is the author's conclusion. New FISA, he says, gives amnesty to telecom, not just to protect companies but to cover illegal government surveillance. It appears to have been tailored to protect administration activities by asking for a piece of paper from the US to the companies. Thus, retroactive cases are DOA.
