Stocks slid for the third straight day Wednesday as Hurricane Rita, which was upgraded to a Category 5 storm, moved into the Gulf of Mexico and crude-oil prices jumped higher, the (paid restricted) WALL STREET JOURNAL reported after the New York exchange closed today at 4:30 pm ET
