A strong military effort by Israel in Gaza undermines the Free Syrian Army effort to take down Assad since Israel is very much in support of that effort and Assad is clearly opposed to Israel military action in Gaza. Saudi Arabia is also hurt by opposing Assad, Israel's opponent. Both factions attacking Assad are compromised by their position which is allied with that of Israel. The Arab public will notice.
