The situation led Secretary of State Sue Cobb to threaten legal action and prompted criticism from some county commissioners and others in the community who felt Sancho's desire to make a political statement got in the way of his duties. County Commissioner Ed DePuy briefly suggested that a grand jury should investigate why Sancho was unable to get the equipment.
Sancho says he was attacked for discovering the truth. "Sure, I didn't want to be hammered, but the fact of the matter is I've made a great discovery for the citizens of Leon County," he said. |
