At Bronx High School of Science, an Exodus of Teachers - Anna M Philips

At last "The NY Times" has paid attention to the process that has emptied the NYC Public Schools of the finest professionals. Now: "simmering tensions between the faculty and administration at the prestigious Bronx High School of Science have led to an exodus of teachers" including "8 of the school's 20 social studies teachers." The complaints are nothing new to thousands of teachers who were driven out.
For 2 decades lawless principals harassed dedicated teacher-practitioners in order to keep the budget low and silence them. "The NY Teacher" continually reports on the chaos sown by principals who use intimidation and harassment to create a divisive culture. The union never used the grievance process to protect teachers from slander. Due process does not exist. This is not new! Betsy Combier's site, Parentadvocate.com chronicles the abuse which the Times has ignored for years
