|UAE supreme council member and Umm Al Qaiwain ruler Saud Bin Rashid Al Mualla, while ordering prisoners' release, expressed hope that this will give them an opportunity to join their families soon and live the rest of their lives as good individuals. Prisoners are given amnesty from serving the remaining period in their prison terms as a gesture of benevolence marking the advent of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. Boottom line is that most countries have some events when amnesty is honored for some in prison. Tradition goes back to ancient world. One of the few countries which do not honor amnesty, due corporate interest, is the USA. Maya and Aztec civilizations honored amnesty and also signed out debt in some events.|
