"We do stand by him," said the Times chief. "Outside a court of law, I agree it would be very difficult to come up with a prosecution of Assange in a way that wouldn't be applicable to us. Whatever one thinks of Assange, they should feel a sense of alarm at any legal action that attempts to punish him for doing what journalists do."
