Though violent crime rates along the border declined in 2009, Senator Kay Hutchinson of Texas introduced an amendment to the emergency supplemental war funding bill, co-sponsored by Senator Jon Kyl of Arizona, that supplies the Border Patrol with drones to monitor the border seven days a week.Both Senators have received campaign contributions from drone makers. Two Mexican citizens were killed by US Border Patrol recently.
