LBJ, Voting Rights Act by PaisleyPerspective
A note to my fellow citizens of Johnson City, Texas.
I made an ass of myself last night. I confronted a racist. Johnson City, Texas has a community shame that roams its streets unchallenged. The spiritual and Karmic inevitabilities are looming. Condoning or tolerating an individual cruising the public streets and patronizing establishments with pictures of our President as an ape plastered on the side of his vehicle or prominently posting a sign that reads, "Obama is not a piece of sh*t, he is the whole turd" in the window of his Lincoln Continental or calling President Obama a "n-word" and me a "n-word Lover" in a restaurant full of people or calling my sweetheart "trailer trash" in the same restaurant or threatening local citizens because he is a "prominent lawyer" is a collective shame. What he is doing is not Free Speech it is Hate Speech. Johnson City needs to do some serious soul searching and think about why we have allowed this to go on.
We live in the hometown of President Lyndon Johnson. He signed powerful and deeply significant civil rights legislation into law. He paved the way for the Presidency of Barack Obama. Johnson City, by allowing this racist to patrol its streets and businesses, is profoundly disrespecting the spirit and accomplishments of Lyndon Johnson. If this stirs something in you please like this and share it. Thanks
P.S. We have three LBJ National Parks around here -- where is the outrage of the park service?
