I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore. Problem is, what am I going to do about it? We have a pack of lying, murdering politicians right out of the cast of a 50's "B" movie running the country, a population of sheep to make Little Bo Peep proud and enough injustice to make Mr. Rogers tear off his sweater and go Rambo and I just ran out of xanax. What to do? Gripe. But whatever you do, don't turn on the TV.::::::::
I'm really pissed. I don't even understand why I'm any more ticked off than I usually am but It doesn't matter. There's so much that I don't understand anymore, for instance, the sheer, unadulterated stupidity of the American people. I don't mean in general, this is what amplifies my anger. I mean at people whom I've respected, I've admired for many years. Do you know what it's like to realize that a person or people whose opinions you've valued for a lifetime are really just stupid?
This all began, for me, with bush. Wow, what a surprise. When he first ran in 2000 I was surprised at some of the people who supported him. What surprised me more was their demeanor and attitudes. They had an air of superiority about them, as though they were part of a chosen elite. Elite, I thought? For supporting a man who couldn't pronounce common, everyday words? A man who couldn't form an intelligible sentence and then explain what he just tried to iterate? What was worse was how ridiculous they sounded when they tried to defend him. They couldn't, naturally. The best they could come up with was "that's part of his charm, he's a good old boy, he's like one of us". Yea, he is, just like you. He's an idiot. But is that the new qualification for being the president of the greatest nation on earth? I guess they were looking to the future, knowing that we wouldn't hold that standard much longer. He, eventually, would fit right in.
Then, when the elections were finally over and his administration successfully completed their coup d'état they blatantly cheered him on as though he were some sort of savior, a regular Fidel. It all so much brought back the reaction of African Americans when OJ was found innocent, even though most of them admitted they believed him guilty. I was losing my mind and to top it off, republicans were the sorest winners I'd ever seen. They couldn't let it go. Continually ragging on lefties, damned liberals, like all of a sudden the definition of 'liberal' had somehow been changed into a derogatory. Now though, when most of the nation has come out of their stupor, those same people who bugged the crap out of me still hold true to their precious idiot. How? Why? What's happened to them? Did someone slip a bush-pod under their beds? Were there subliminal messages in their Quaker Oats commercials? I need an explanation and whenever I try to engage them for some kind of tip all I can get is "well, what do you expect when stupid liberal lefties are messing up the world." Krist, lefties haven't had the world for 8 years, you fools have!
This morning though, I finally came to the end of my rope. I woke up to the TV. My wife had on one of those network morning shows, you know, that daily, cheer you up vapid crap "She was buried alive for eight years, living on the maggots which were living on her, and today she's here with us to share her uplifting story and tell us how she came to fall in love with and marry her abductor". But, this morning I was faced with Bill Clinton, explaining to us again how Hilary's statement about how she came under sniper fire on the White House lawn or wherever she was, was just a little mix-up and how we should all just put it behind her,,uh, us. Jeezuz! enough already? First of all if it was a mix-up then tell us what it was a mix-up with. Had she ever come under sniper fire anywhere, anytime, in her life? If not, then just what the hell was she mixed up about? Secondly, if you want us to forget, shut up!
And this is where I finally give it all up. Hilary, Bill, Barack, everyone, just shut up! You're all just as bad as bush and his hacks. You're all playing us. You know that Americans are stupid, vacant jerks who watch reality shows about dancing stars and eating wild animal's testis's while they're still alive and dripping blood. You realize that if bush could pull off what he did then anyone can get over on this land of fools. It's all like a big game of musical chairs for nit-wits, whoever happens to stop talking when the music ends gets to be president so you'll just keep running your diarrheic mouths until November hoping you land in the hot seat. Do you know what? You all suck, we're sick of all of your juvenile, asinine crap and I for one resent the hell out of being treated and spoken to like we're a bunch of jerks with the intelligence capacity of a group of extreme right wing religious zealots. Back off, leave us alone. And Bill, you've become one annoying son of a bitch. You're starting to remind me of Ted Kennedy.
This is all just one more reason for America to tell all of these fools to screw. We need to demand, and stand behind one real contender. Someone who we all know will beat McCain. Someone we all know recognizes the one major problem, the corporate establishment, and how to deal with it. Someone who is aware that once that disease is removed it's all downhill from there. Someone who we had a shot with and blew it because we're all just so damned stupid and shallow. Who has already guessed who I'm speaking of? I'll bet 90%. If we can't get John Edwards back in this race we don't stand much chance of fixing anything that's wrong in this country. If you agree then start talking about him, put Edwards name back on the lips of America. Write articles, submit links to articles about Edwards but don't give up. Have you got any better ideas?
