Spend 40+ minutes interviewing Shirley Phelps-Roper, as I did, and you may have your answer.

On Sunday January 27, 2008 I lost 40+ minutes of my life when I decided to interview Shirley Phelps-Roper on my radio show. You can find it here: http://www.freeworldradionetwork.net/

I had heard that the Westboro Baptist Church was going to protest a funeral(yet again) and this time the target was Heath Ledger.

I had seen her interviewed on Hannity & Colmes and other places and the interviewers all made the same mistake, they immediatley began to attack her, thus playing right into her hands. I chose the tact of treating her somewhat politely and asking questions as if I cared. I hoped this would make her comfortable enough to say really bizzare things.

She didn't disappoint.

I then began to feed her enough rope for her to hang herself. She promptly obliged by throwing the rope over a tree limb, putting the noose around her neck, and slapping the horse.

She admitted she would dance with glee if George W Bush was assassinated by an IED, coming dangerously close to saying she would even be glad to plant it.

She admitted her and the Westboro Baptist Church hate America, the government, all of the States and basically everyone but themselves.

My favorite part was at the end of the interview when I called her a sick, twisted, sanctimonious cow.

Maybe that 40+ minutes wasn't wasted after all.
