On her debut self-titled CD, singer/songwriter Tina Micula delivers a heartfelt musical journey exploring life and love. Ninevolt magazine has compared Tina's vocal quality to Joni Mitchell and Jewel. Her lyrics are Dylanesque, not surprising since Bob Dylan is her favorite songwriter.

"Music has always been important in my life. I remember singing songs listening to the radio when I was six or seven years old. I loved to sing. I got a guitar from my sister when I was about fifteen and started plunking out tunes. Other early musical influences include Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon, and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. “I think those early influences molded me as a songwriter.

As of late, Tina has lent her songwriting hand to help the homeless performing her song "God's Hands and Feet" at the Norfolk Homeless Vigil. She has put the story of the New Road Community into song and recently performed it with the incomparable St. Mary's choir. She is working on recording her second CD.

Tina's philosophy is “I see music as a vehicle that can heal, inspire and change people for the better. She has used her time and talent to perform for the sick, the aged and the homeless. Tina's live performances are extremely interactive. For me, the musical experience is very much a living thing that happens between the audience and me. I like to think of it more as a dance than a scripted performance. I know that I have done my job as a performer if people are excited and moved by what I do. Success of a performance doesn't depend so much on doing everything perfectly. What matters is that people feel what I am doing and respond to it.

Tina Micula is also "an artist in residence at MonroeElementary School and is training teachers to use song writing to address children's long term memory. The research project uses song writing to enhance instruction as defined by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM). A summer program was conducted in 2008 and in school year 2009-2010, grades 3-5 students are writing and performing their songs. On February 25th, 2009, students performed their songs at a PTA function celebrating Black History Month." (source)
