tonight on Rob Kall Radio' Bottom Up New Media and Different Perspectives on Iran

First half of the show was a fascinating discussion of the hot, emerging field of NEW MEDIA in A talk with Micah Sifry, co-organizer of the Personal Democracy Forum, the conference I'll be attending and covering next week. Micah says it is so new and so open that anyone can get in it and find a job and discusses how to get started.

Next week, I'll be attending the Personal Democracy Forum, my second year attending. I am really looking forward to it because there's really no other place where the new media is discussed, explored, analyzed and understood. The conference, which takes place in an extraordinarily cordial venue in NYC, brings together an incredible collection of leaders in new media thinking-- media leaders from conventional print, net digerati like the web campaign managers from all the major presidential primary campaigns, writers like Jonathan Alter, Arrianna Huffington, founders of sites like meetup, craigslist, actblue, and visionaries in the future of the web and the media, like Jeff Jarvis, Clay Shirkey, Douglas Rushkoff, Vint Cerf, Seth Godin, Lawrence Lessig, Esther Dyson, Yochai Benkler, and then there are the bloggers/digital media leaders like Josh Marshall and Jane Hamsher. Other figures include Van Jones, Thomas Friedman, Tracy Russo, Elizabeth Edwards, Joe Trippi...

Last year, I had a chance to chat with a lot of these same people. They're accessible. OEN has established an arrangement with the conference.
