Eli Lilly pleaded guilty (in Jan 2009) to pushing off-label use of the deadly psychotropic drug Zyprexa on young children and senior citizens and others for which there is no FDA-approved indication.

Fined $1.4 billion ~ Lily made out like a bandit with $36 billion in Zyprexa profits over the past decade.  

In that context, AARP reports that prices Drug manufacturers charged for most widely used brand name drugs rose 8.7% in 2008 while generic drug costs fell in average of 10.6% in 2008.

Among the drugs that saw the biggest price increases were ~ Prevacid ( for acid reflux ) up 30%  Wellbutrin ( for depression ) up 21% Lunesta ( for sleeping ) up 20%.   http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090415/ap_on_re_us/drug_prices_aarp

The solution ~ buy generic and boycott the major drug manufacturers. Consumers have power and must use it to cause change.
