With time running out, Republicans refuse to budge. What is their game?

::::::::

Republicans once more choose not to act in the face of our economic meltdown just as they did not act swiftly in the Katrina disaster. They threaten filibusters constantly and then still do not want to act. It seems the only way they know how to do anything is to not do anything. Actually it seems that they want the economy to tank. Can they possibly think that refusing to do anything would make them look good some day? Oh that's right, Republicans say government is not supposed to do anything, especially create jobs.

There is an old Republican spin their neocon guru, Grover Norquist, came up with. They want Government to get so small and ineffective that they can "drown it in a bathtub". So what would be left if they drain all the money out of government, gut or shut down all the government programs and deregulate everything? Well they got rid of a lot of taxes and laws and regulations already didn't they?

The Republicans left an economic meltdown and a trillion dollar deficit. Perhaps they planned that too. What if they had destroyed the constitution and ruined our elections again? We would have no law and order; just a bunch of vigilantes like in the old West taking the law into their own hands. They could then declare martial law. Is that what they really want? This sounds very subversive to me.

Once you have totally broken and gutted the government and it's no longer functional, the multinationals can take over the world and get rid of all the representatives of the people. After they fight it out for dominance and, as in the game of Monopoly, the last man standing, the one with all the money and property wins.

The President King will own the army and the Corporation will own him and the greatest army and arsenal of weapons in the world. Meet your new King of the World. We would all go back to feudalism and living in hovels and caves or prisons. The King and the Nobles will own everything and 'we the people' will once again be their slaves.

Now some of you may love to go to Renaissance Festivals, but do you really want to live like that? A lot of those folks died of the Plague, you know. If you are a Republican, please tell your senators to support Obama's stimulus package and get this country back on track. We are running out of time!
