Too err is human, but lets not get carried away with it. ::::::::
Our government, our mega-corporations, our "free press," and our political parties are infected with the worst case of self-indulgence and greed since the Roman Empire. The Military Industrial Complex owns/controls our government and what used to be one of the most investigative media on this planet.
President Eisenhower's warning about the MIC has most definitely come true. Our private citizens are being deprived of need to know information. The elections are being manipulated by either denying or suppressing truths or supplying gross lies. One of the oldest truths about mankind is, if you are going to lie, make it a big one! People are more likely to believe "big ones." Also being thrown in are false polls, fake statements planted by the opposition, and derogatory remarks of the lowest nature. Character assassination is so rampant that it is impossible to have a true feeling about what a candidate is all about.
Now the Republican candidates are trying to get the Democratic candidate assassinated. They are encouraging their followers to rekindle racist remarks and violence not seen since the fifties and sixties. This is total insanity at its very worst. This is emulating some other countries where voting takes place with knives, spears, and grenades. This is not the United States of America. How can we live in a country where our laws are ignored by the president, vice-president, Congress, the Supreme Court, attorney generals, both major political parties, and berserk so-called religious leaders? It is as if the whole of our society has lost its collective mind.
It is sad to know that religion is one of the most dangerous activities that mankind has sought to embrace as a society. Religion, which is basically an individual's belief, has become one of the single most destructive forces created by man. Our capacity for intelligent thought almost demands that each of us have a set of beliefs which will allow us to have comfort in the notion of how things(including us) came to be and the force behind that. There is nothing at all wrong with this as long as we allow others the freedom to have their own beliefs and they return that favor. Religions by themselves are not actually to blame but the human believers are! Since the beginning of man when we began to consider how things came to be, there have been members of our societies that have made use of our beliefs to control us for their benefit. This is perhaps one of our biggest weaknesses. Our inability to maintain our individual power of thought and give into the gravity of mob rule that renders the human race totally inept and completely self-destructive. The want to strive for higher goals and status has almost always been undermined by the weakest of our fellow humans and the vulnerability we all have to act like lemmings.
The audacity many humans have to consider our species to be completely superior to all others only compounds our major inabilities to intelligently reason out our problems. At a time when we should be calling on our strengths, we instead yield to our lowest, primal attributes like greed, jealousy, paranoia, and the like. There are many natural disasters available to wipe our race off the face of this universe such as earthquakes, volcanoes, tidal waves, "global warming," numerous bodies from space, enumerable diseases, movements of the moon, or the ageing of our Sun.
With all of these hanging over our heads, why then do we continue to devise so many ways to accomplish global extermination of ourselves? As we continue to over-populate, under-educate, and deny the basics of life to many of our brothers and sisters you would think it would be massively obvious that what we do/do not do to each other we also do to ourselves. In spite of all of this we allow our chosen "leaders" to lie to and corrupt our societies at will as we merrily bicker amongst ourselves on this insane trip to oblivion. Our integrity and honor have vanished as we will also if we continue to fail as a planet by continuing to cling to nationalism, racism, bigotry, and the like. Just how hard is it to open one's mind and allow ourselves to consider the greater possibilities of which we can aspire?

I am a Vietnam Vet disabled by MS and other various diseases. On average I am a Moderate with slight Conservative leanings although it truly depends on what issue I am concerned with at the time.
