Last week, a Gazprom delegation visited Ankorage, Alaska :::::::: Last week, a Gazprom delegation visited Ankorage, Alaska while Govenor Sarah Palin was out and about. The Russians aren't coming. They're already here. Guess who Gazprom came to speak with. No, not Ms. "They're our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska." Sarah Palin is too tough on Putin to be caught shaking hands with the guys from Gazprom. It was only a matter of time before Russian energy giant Gazprom made their move, into Alaska. Let's face it, Gazprom is the world's leading pipeline & district heating specialist. So if Alaska, if the USA is to get serious on installing a pipeline from northern Alaska to the USA via Canada, the best people to have engaged in the project are the Russians. The pure hypocracy of it all. Imagine that. On TV screens and in front of the crowds while out on the campaign trail, politicians are doing their best to display toughness on Russia and Putin while in reality, they know we need the Russians to get many a job done, maybe even to survive. Of course there are two sides to the coin as Ukrainians recently found out. Wait a sec, maybe the title of this article is really true! How can we stop the Russians from coming? Well, one way would be to drop plans to open Alaska's wilderness for Oil drilling and/or tapping into natural gas sources, to drop plans to install a mother of a pipeline, to drop the idea of having to continue down the path of using fossil fuel. Wouldn't it be better for us all if we would spend half as much money on new, clean, green energy sources as we now spend on defense and war? Besides, war aint no fun. Heck. Everybody knows that! Even the Russians.
