For a good example of right wing desperation, just listen to the Queen of Kool Aid, Sarah Palin on the campaign trail. No longer are the conservatives prophesying a victory for Sarah and Old John. The silence is deafening. :::::::: Now that poor Sarah has had her hand slapped for the “Troopergate” affair involving her dedicated and loyal husband Todd and ex brother-in- law, my conservative friends are now taking a different approach to the elections. No longer are they sending out hoax e-mails. about Obama. No longer are they prophesying a victory for Sarah and Old John. None of them are even defending Sarah’s pathetic claims that she has been vindicated. They are remarkably silent. It could be that all of them are trying to figure out how to put a new spin on things. It takes a bit of work to try to refute logic and facts, which could be something that radical right wing conservatives are incapable of doing. Or, it could be that they see the sense in not trying to beat a dead horse back to life. Failing a miracle - and heaven knows the right wing Evangelicals are praying for one now - it is quite obvious that the Democrats will be the center of power for at least the next two years. Mid-term elections could change that, but it is not likely. If history is any indication, the Republicans will be dormant for at least four to six years. The silence is indeed welcome.
The Old Codger today is an old, cynical, cantankerous, contrarian who enjoys the occasional bottle of Jack Daniels. He works in a university of some repute attempting to teach writing, critical thinking and logic, all three of which are daunting (more...)
