The partisan politics of America has morphed into a facade of two-party competition, with each "side" competing with snazzy slogans while their leaderships wink at each other pretending concern over such as unemployment, homelessness, inferior education and medical care at double the costs of the superior international standard, and at the same time stimulating the profits of war and the lust for resources by replacing the Sixth Commandment with "Support Our Troops."
.
While some would question our values, I would ask what's happened to our brains. "Hey y'all come to our next demopublican meet-up and support our fearless candidate." Yeah, sure, like for instance to support eleven more years of unconscionable slaughter 7,000 miles off our coasts like the past eleven years.

Chris Hedges says it better than I do:
.
"The presidential election exposed the liberal class as a corpse. It fights for nothing. It stands for nothing. It is a useless appendage to the corporate state. It exists not to make possible incremental or piecemeal reform, as it originally did in a functional capitalist democracy; instead it has devolved into an instrument of personal vanity, burnishing the hollow morality of its adherents. Liberals, by voting for Barack Obama, betrayed the core values they use to define themselves--the rule of law, the safeguarding of civil liberties, the protection of unions, the preservation of social welfare programs, environmental accords, financial regulation, a defiance of unjust war and torture, and the abolition of drone wars."
