ELECTION REFORM PROPOSAL

ELECTION REFORM PROPOSAL

Prior to my service on the board of the ACLU Chapter in my county, I served on an election reform think tank along with election reform authority Victoria Collier. She is as knowledgeable as Bev Harris, including statistics, how the computers work and their mechanism, etc. Collier’s uncle ran for public office in the 70s as a way to probe the election theft issue, and found out enough to spark a 24-year investigation. This culminated in the book “Votescam: The Stealing of America” by Ken and James Collier. The book was falsely listed out of print and still is: Victoria Collier sells it at www.votescam.com

On our think tank were several computer programmers, one of whom also was/is an engineer and a Democratic official in an election office in Florida. Based on their information and Victoria’s, I came up with the following proposal, to which Victoria gave the nod and said it would actually work. She also said that something similar has been done in other countries and that history has proven it to be effective.

As a signal of hope to any of you who are depressed and feeling understandably helpless in the political world, every newspaper I have submitted this proposal to has printed it. An activist holding a political science degree contacted me after reading the proposal in the local paper, and has become my activist partner who has introduced me to yet another top-level activist who has trained activists internationally. He marched my proposal in to a house party where Kucinich was personally present, and showed the plan to Kucinich, who said he wanted it penned into law. Further, my activist friend submitted the plan to a movie maker who was sparked and is going to make a movie about the idea.

So the moral of the story is: We never know who we are going to reach with letters to the editor! Cheer up folks, there is hope. Our word DOES make a difference and our voice DOES count!

HERE IS THE PROPOSAL:

A) Citizens, not paid-off computer programmers, tally the votes using paper ballots.

B) Citizens are summoned by random drawing for the civic duty of vote counting, just like with jury duty.

C) Paper is not punched: Instead, it’s fill-in-the-bubble. No more hanging chads!

D) Hand-counting of paper ballots is done on public TV (Kucinich modified that to being counted in public view, which makes budgetary sense). Thus, nothing can be stolen.

E) Ballot storage boxes are transported under surveillance camera, so nothing can be dumped off en route (as has been known to happen)

F) Storage areas of ballot boxes are under surveillance at all times and accessible to public view 24-7, every day of the year, no exceptions (so nothing can be whisked away).

G) VERY IMPORTANT! Citizen vote counters post results to Internet PRIOR TO notifying the media (because the media has historically collaborated in lies to help steal votes. More about this later).

H) Another panel of citizens chosen by random summons is responsible for tallying the votes on the County and State levels, posting to the Internet PRIOR TO notifying the media, as before. (Votes are historically stolen in greatest proportions not at the local precincts, according to Victoria Collier, but from the more secret and less overseen County and State and Federal levels).

I) State-wide results are added up in columns on the Internet to give the figures for the final vote.

J) Media plays “Second fiddle” in announcing election results to the Internet.

This quote summarizes the nature of my concerns and the content of personal experiences which stir my activism: "Necessity is the plea for every infringement on human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves". --Paul (more...)
