Florida Representative Robert Wexler is steadily closing in on 200,000 signatures on an online petition he posted in December calling for citizen support of impeachment proceedings commencing at once against Vice President Richard B. Cheney.
Rep. Wexler, a member of the House Judiciary Committee where impeachment proceedings are considered, has said that he plans to submit this list to the HJC when the House of Representatives returns to session the week of January 15th.
Former Democratic Party Presidential nominee Senator George McGovern announced today that he has finally painfully come to agree that impeachment hearings are warranted and are in the best interest of the nation. McGovern did so in an article published in Sunday's Washington Post entitled: Nixon Was Bad. These Guys Are Worse.
