- Now you will understand fear...

R. Kipling, Mowgli

When I published the article above  about the drones' white paper I was expecting a barrage of supporting comments. I got one. That one was considering my article as a 'sad fun', George Carlin- style and expressed hope that  such things would not happen. I did not mean my article to be  fun though. I meant  it to to   be tragic.

One Russian poet, Georgi Shengeli wrote a poem once about his childhood  when he saw the  first International Flight exhibition in Russia in 1912 or so. As a kid he saw Blerios and Farmans, he saw great pilots and  watched the flights. He  mentioned  that at that time the  newspapers wrote enthusiastically about the new era of brotherhood coming, that  as the sky was no longer  the limit, neither would be borders and papers, that all people could fly to each other freely and enjoy the  feeling of joy instead of the feeling of fear of the skies.
The poem is dated  Y1941 and at the end  of it he writes:

- And now, greyish and frail, I climb on the roof of my building
To stay under the  frightful skies of bombs falling on me...

The frightful skies.  Fear of the skies. Can you feel it? Thousands, millions of people will now feel that fear forever and that fear comes from us.  Just imagine that; you are a child and you fear the sunny skies because sunny skies bring horrible, inhumane machines that kill everything around you and  those machines are made by some far- away people you had never seen and who had never seen you. What kind of hate can that act  generate? Just imagine that.

Lyons Feichtwanger, the German genius  once defined the essence of any inhumane society, fascist, or other kind; that  would be the one which by its act of malice had  made everything happening in it or developed by it evil. Everything, the whole everyday life in such society  is evil. Waking up, going to work, reading a newspaper, watching TV, talking, eating, making love, childbirth, death- all becomes evil because  it is all touched by malice  at the roots. In the Nazi Germany that malice was the racial superiority. In the Stalin's Russia that malice was the empire thinking. In our case that malice is  American exceptionalism and our life now is under the wings of the DRONE.  Everything from now on is touched by it. Our needful things  had become evil. We had  been exposed to the fear of the skies.

Ok,  don't comment.  Just tell your children, please. Pull them aside and explain to them that  instead of  the land of the free we had become the land of moronic evil. Tell them that the DRONE is a king and it is a machine of death, not fun. Tell them about the fear of the skies which we now  know, tell them  how it  is in reality for all those  in the world  who before just did not know us and now hate us. Tell them who did it and why. Tell them the truth.

In the Nazi Germany and Stalin's Russia parents desperately shielded their children from the truth. They did not want their kids to lose hope. They did not want them to feel fear.  As a result, when the kids grew up they had only two choices- to murder or  be murdered. That shielded environment took away their humanity.  In this country we  are at the same crossroads now. If we don't tell our kids how it is in reality we risk to raise a generation of jackals. We owe them that much. We  owe them  the real truth, the whole truth, nothing but the truth, as soon as God  still helps us, hopefully. Now we can tell them about the fear of the skies and there is a slim chance we can together get rid of it. But if we stay silent we will come to fear them and they will fear each other and that kind of fear is incurable; we all will be  doomed.

Tell your children that the fun is over.  It is time to wake up. Tell them even if you are afraid to tell them. Just tell them.
