Nurturing my Broken Heart
I do not know how long it will take
My heart is broken and has suffered deep loss
I ache for an ageless grace
To mend from the pain in which I toss
I am busy with the outer questing of life
But my Inner love matters are not prey to a thief
I will not lament my inner heart pain
I will wrap my arms around my grief
There is a realm where such grief is not felt
Where mortal matters are far below
For the long view I tighten my belt
And reach for things I can not yet know
My distant beloved may meet another
I can imagine her good and strength
She may nurture him and I recover
I will with open heart conquer at length
To give away that which I most love
For the good of he who is my heart's treasure
For this goal I reach beyond and above
For he is my love beyond earth's measure
My mind knows I can not love and lose
I bow to know good is served
I will win in the end beyond this bruise
I will inherit long term what I deserve
For transient good and all that turns to dust
Shall not clip my wings that fly beyond mortal happenings
I shall transcend and conquer want and lust
I will give my love away and see what letting go brings
Love in the loneliness sinking deep within
I will slowly sink for I can not climb
In love I will lose but inwardly win
For it is non-possessive love that is most sublime
