It hasn't changed.

The GOP in my lifetime has always done the same thing. Its policies benefit the top 1% solely, so how do they get another 45 or so% to vote for them? They appeal to the worst instincts of the red staters and the undecided which is obvious if the following two questions are investigated. If you are not in the top 1%, isn't voting for the GOP against your own self interests? How does someone remain undecided at this late date and still have a pulse?

When you consider the base of the GOP you realize that these people, other than the loathsome top 1%, are people who barely think. They bear the brunt of the GOP's wars and tax scams for the top 1%, yet they believe the GOP propaganda which rarely changes throughout the decades.

The September 5th 2008 article "Spiro T. Palin" at
http://www.commondreams.org/view/2008/09/05-1
reminds us of Tricky Dick's attack dog as it states "But when Maryland Governor Spiro T. Agnew hit the campaign trail, he did so as "Nixon's Nixon" - the attack dog the party needed to take the opposition apart while making the Republican presidential nominee look presidential.
It was the same role that Alaska Governor Sarah Palin assumed Wednesday night at the Republican National Convention in St. Paul.
In her speech accepting the Republican nomination for vice president, Palin did a full Agnew."
It hasn't changed. Palin isn't yet using Agnew's "effete intellectual snobs", but at the McCain/Palin hate rallies Obama has been labeled as "that one", an Arab, a communist, a socialist, people have yelled "Kill him", "behead him" among other phrases that could be considered as libelous hate crimes. McCain/Palin have encouraged this behavior.

The article concludes "Never mind the conflicts between reality and Palin's over-the-top mischaracterizations of Obama's record and positions. The governor of Alaska was not about to be constrained by the facts.

The point was not to debate the Democrats. The point, as in Spiro Agnew's day, was to destroy the opposition. "(Though) both Senator Obama and Senator Biden have been going on lately about how they are always, quote, 'fighting for you,' let us face the matter squarely," shouted Palin. "There is only one man in this election who has ever really fought for you ... in places where winning means survival and defeat means death ... and that man is John McCain."

This is the Sarah Palin America we will hear in the fall of 2008. Those who listen closely will hear echoes of 1968. The echoes will not be precise. John McCain is not Richard Nixon. Barack Obama is certainly not Hubert Humphrey. There is no George Wallace dividing the Democratic vote. But there is a Spiro Agnew, and her name is Sarah Palin."

McCain, a.k.a. mini-me 43, has had a psychotic break from reality. He told the Washington Times that his mentor W failed in the following: "Spending, the conduct of the war in Iraq for years, growth in the size of government, larger than any time since the Great Society, laying a $10 trillion debt on future generations of America, owing $500 billion to China, obviously, failure to both enforce and modernize the [financial] regulatory agencies that were designed for the 1930s and certainly not for the 21st century, failure to address the issue of climate change seriously."

Obama has an ad which has mini-me stating that he voted with W 90% of the time. Which of the above rant is the 10% of ideas that mini-me disagreed with his sponsor and mentor, big bro 43? If you take this to its logical conclusion mini-me disagrees with his own ideas in the above anti-43 rant.

Big bro 43's poppy had a ruthless political advisor, Lee Atwater who came up with the ultimate racist campaign against 41's opponent Michael Dukakis. It was a TV ad about Willie Horton, a convicted murderer serving a life sentence in a Massachusetts prison who committed a rape while participating in a weekend furlough. The core of the propaganda was that Dukakis' programs allowed Horton to rape women--consequentially he condoned raping.

Mini-me has not passed on any vile past GOP hypocrisy and now he is trying to allege that as the article's headline "Young Republican claims Obama supporter carved letter 'B' on her face during robbery"
at  click here
suggests Obama and his crowd is currently raping white women!

The problem is that this alleged victim 20 year old Ashley Todd's story does not seem real. She allegedly had a "B" carved into her face by her assailant, but the "B" was backwards as if though she did it to herself while looking in a mirror. Also the carving never broke her skin. So the assailant can carve backwards and not break the skin. He has better hands than 90% of surgeons, and the carving backwards part is completely not credible.

Of course, Ashley Todd also happens to be a campaign volunteer for John McCain. If this proves to be a ruse then mini-me should just crawl into some hole and not be seen again. Either some functionary in his campaign coordinated this scam, or a borderline emotionally-ill person such as Ashley Todd--as a result all of the hate rallies that mini-me has led--came up with this twisted idea on her own. If it was the latter it was because mini-me encouraged this kind of emotional illness in his rallies as Hitler stoked the anger of average Germans in his day.

Mini-me's twisted campaigns have caused this Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann's desperate plea for help in which she wants the US media to expose the anti-Americans in the Congress. This reminds us of the McCarthy red-baiting days and all of this has resulted because of McCain's attempt to divide the country into American and anti-American parts.

Colin Powell said this when he endorsed Obama instead of his longtime GOP cohort McCain, "And we have got to say to the world, it doesn't make any difference who you are or what you are, if you're an American, you're an American. And this business, for example, of the congressman from Minnesota who's going around saying, 'Let's examine all congressmen to see who is pro-America or not pro-America'--we have got to stop this kind of nonsense, pull ourselves together and remember that our great strength is in our unity and in our diversity. And so, that really was driving me."
