Evolution is the unfolding of potential that is within us. The potential that unfolds is in relationship to the external world. For example, there are Buddhists monks in Tibet that can change their body temperature at will through meditation. Perhaps we all have the potential to increase our temperature when the weather gets cold or decrease our temperature when it gets hot. Perhaps this could spell the end of the garment industry? Could it also be possible we could live a life without clothes?
It is interesting in this regard that women specifically, and the feminine in general, have been suppressed over the course of the past 4 - 6,000 years. Some of that has changed, but for the most part "equal rights" for women has entailed their becoming more masculine. So, many of the women who entered the labor market which wound up being a population that was paid less, meaning the bankers and corporate heads profited more at the expense of family and community values.
The time frame for the suppression of the Female would have been around the time of the writing of the Bible's "Genesis" in which Eve is cursed for giving an apple to Adam that opened both of their eyes to their nudity. At this time, they felt shame with Eve receiving the brunt of a double edged sword for enticing Adam into partaking of the magic fruit. The apple in those days was seen as the fruit of wisdom. Its center had 5 seeds that formed the shape of a pentagram. Even in modern days many of us can remember when it was a great calling to provide our elementary school teachers with an apple. That apple was the fruit of knowledge. As such, the apple metaphor could be seen as a double edged sword in that: (1) it increased human's awareness of self which then (2) caused them to judge themselves and led to the need for clothing to cover their shame. So, perhaps the problem isn't clothing per se, but the judgment that comes with having our eyes opened, i.e., becoming self-aware.
In our self-awareness we have become highly externalized. We need to fit in and in fitting in we squelch our potential. We fall prey to the newest fads and fashion of the garment and artistic businesses. Meanwhile, we have bosses, supervisors, police, teachers, and politicians ruling our lives. These too are there not to foster your evolution, but suppress it.
Does it have to be this way? What if we could cultivate our inner world while balancing our need for the external teachers? What if the external was seen as a facilitator, or a spark, for inner change and NOT as our rulers? To become pregnant with new life requires the external agent entering into the internal. It's a dance, not a rape. In the setup we have today, be it in education, the workplace or in politics, the rule is more akin to rape than lovemaking.
It is the internal, the feminine, that carries the "golden egg", the potential of change. At this point, the dominate politicians and media ask the occupiers "what exactly are you trying to bring forth?" If the occupiers were to answer honestly, "whatever potential is evolving as we speak," they would not be understood by the spokespeople of a culture that breaks eggs from without just to see how they can profit from all they find within.
Just as the gender and overall make up of a baby is not under our direct egotistical control, the results of our labor will unfold as it wills. Prior to that mysterious birth, we must ask what fears we have regarding this change. What keeps us stuck in the old ways? Is it the uncertainty? Can we allow the new to unfold?
