Eyes Wide Shut - Arrogance, Ignorance & Ultra-Patriotism

The supreme arrogance and ignorance of the United States of America is that it has erroneously led its people to believe that they should rightfully be the ones bringing freedom and democracy to the nations of this world.

I think this natural ignorance comes from an inherent ultra-patriotism. This is the belief instilled in every American, from birth to death, that there is no greater citizen, no greater country, and no greater way of life than America.

This criminal Bush "administration" has deviously and immorally taken this inherent ultra-patriotism, and unified it with intense propaganda to manipulate the public's perception into supporting its illegal aggressions. Anyone speaking out against their policies is labeled unpatriotic, a dissident or even a domestic terrorist.

Because of a mainstream news blackout, the majority of the public isn't even aware of the reported 800 internment, or concentration camps, which have been built around the United States during the last eight years, nor the hundreds of thousands of black plastic coffins which have been purchased and stored. Most likely prepared for the coming revolt and riots of people which will occur when the U.S. dollar is finally collapsed, along with everyone's savings. And then the Amero currency will be introduced as the foundation stone for the coming North American Union.

This is textbook historical fascism at work, and it is once again a very subtle slide down into its abyss. Logic and sensibility have been thrown to the wind. Total victory is the only rallying cry for this war machine grinder, as it always has been for the defense industry and oil mega-corporations, and nothing less will suffice.

With regards to the Iraqi conflict, the U.S. leadership has effectively transported the public's fear as an American form of state terrorism onto the innocent Iraqi civilians, to exploit anger and retribution for 9/11, while fueling the fires of inherent arrogance and ignorance. Most of the general public will not recognize or accept their exploitation as fact.

The Iraqi people are most surely paying rivers of blood and oil for their freedom. They've been struggling for almost half a century to be liberated not only from the grip of Saddam Hussein, but also primarily the United States, and their long national nightmare is continuing with no forseeable or realistic end in sight. Any further claims by this "administration" of a noble righteous cause in Iraq are shattered when viewed in contrast with the U.S. government's attempt to exploit Iraqi oilfields through the use of extortion and brinksmanship. This is the freedom Bush and Cheney promised to America that they would give Iraq. How gracious.

You want to end this war? Start by consistently showing the American public the daily effects of it on the Iraqi people. Without censorship. Show the blown-up bodies. Show the dead and wounded children. Show the grieving families. Anyone criticizing this as blatantly indecent, should question the decency of what America's government under the Bush "administration" has forced upon Iraq. This after almost 600,000 Iraqi children out of 1 million people reportedly died as a result of over 10 years of U.S.-United Nations imposed sanctions during the Clinton and Bush regimes.

When I went to the Dominican Republic, I was shocked to see 2-3 minutes of news footage of up-close dead bodies from a car accident. Apparently, this is routine there. It is done to try and make people drive with more caution by directly showing them the consequences if they don't.

If the American public was truly exposed to the realities of what their government subjects the peoples of other nations to, they would not be so quick to send their children off to war, and they'd think twice about the decency of their own compassionate "Christian values". The conflict in Iraq would end quite quickly. But this has not happened.

Why?

The U.S. mainstream news media is complicit to the many crimes of the Bush "administration" and its unnecessary war. They've anesthetized the public to the horror of Iraq. They've turned it into entertainment and ratings. But more than that, they've conspired to collectively manipulate U.S. public opinion instead of maintaining their journalistic code of objective neutrality. Ultra-patriotism is absolute, while ethics and morality are out of fashion. In this way, the media, the Congress, and the so-called Bush "administration" have all failed the innocent citizens of America and Iraq, in whose blood their hands are soaked with.

If the Democrat-led leadership in Congress had the guts to impeach this criminal president, I believe they would find that not only would they have the support of a majority of the American people behind them, but also the backing of the rest of the civilized world, which I think could have guaranteed a Democrat win for the White House. It has been said that the Democrats did not want impeachment before November, for fear of playing into the hands of the Republicans and losing the presidential election once again. Considering that the stakes are extremely high this is a very undesirable outcome, and understandably so.
