The continued growth of Corporatism in America is inflicting tremendous damage upon this nation and society; Corporatism might effectively be described as capitalism on steroids, spinning out of control, and poisoning and corrupting whatever it contacts. It has become a stifling, suffocating force that is sucking the lifeblood out of America.
I view Corporatism as a powerful consortium of giant global corporations, Wall Street and the banksters, the defense industry and specific sectors of the U.S. government; the common objective of these various elements of Corporatism is to control the wealth of this nation by maintaining a powerful grip over the manufacturing and financial sectors, the U.S. government and the political process.
Let's examine and illustrate just how Corporatism is inflicting this damage upon this nation and society:
Corporatism is a destructive force : For decades it has had a negative, adverse effect on American manufacturing, the American workforce, the middle class, the political process and our democracy.
There is no question that one of its main objectives involves the dismantling of the U.S. manufacturing sector and its associated workforce. Since the year 2000 there have been more than 50,000 manufacturing facilities in this country closed and millions of workers have lost their jobs to Chinese labor. Corporate CEO's who make obscene salaries in the multi-millions by using overseas sweatshops in which people labor like slaves reside at the lower levels of human behavior.
But no matter how many jobs corporations continue to transfer to China and other overseas nations, no matter how much manufacturing has deteriorated, the corporate-controlled politicians in Congress steadfastly refuse to enact strong legislation to stop the bleeding. They, in effect, have become full-time employees of Corporate America but their annual salaries of $174,000 and very generous health and retirement benefits are paid for by the American people.
Every job that leaves America and becomes a part of China's industrial sector is another nail in the coffin of the U.S. consumer-driven economy. We hear these incompetents in Washington talk about creating jobs in America but they never say how they would do it or what kind of jobs they would create. They are clueless and do nothing of substance while millions of people compete for jobs that don't exist. In effect these politicians have become the enemy of the American workforce and the facilitator of Chinese manufacturing.
