Maybe I was just too young and uninvolved when I
was in my twenties, but I do not remember such hardship, division, injustice,
and anger in our country as that which has grown since 9/11. I do not remember ever having a Government so
committed to removing our rights or endangering and manipulating our people
like we have had beginning with George W. Bush and continued on unwaveringly by Barack Obama. I do not
remember hearing such vile, yet founded angst from our citizens as I have heard
in the streets, our offices, and online in the past decade. I do not remember
ever feeling as I do right now in this moment.
Many people have looked at me with contempt over the years for
my feelings about what happened on
I was introduced to a whole world of
conspiracies along my quest for Truth. Many of which I neglected to get behind,
some of which I delved into more thoroughly because there were enough
questionable circumstances to warrant my mind space and my time to learn more.
I tried hard to be "awake" without being or sounding "insane". I am sure often
I failed, at least to some.
I've learned that people can passionately agree about and rally
against something in unison while simultaneously and vehemently disagreeing on
other things. I have learned that just because someone steps up as a leader of
a movement or message does not mean they are any more knowledgeable or credible
than I. I have learned that "leaders" are what we make and/or allow them to be
and I have also learned that sometimes we get it wrong.
In our frantic desire to spread Truth we
have also spread lies. Some people have done so intentionally for an
agenda all their own and by the time we see that to be true we have already
lost some of our own credibility by propping them up for as long as we have.
Our reputations have been tarnished by people like David Icke and Alex Jones and it is
people like them that are the manufacturers of the tin foil hats we are all so willing
wear.
Governments cannot be trusted. This is true and we should all
know this by now. I think most people do, but only in relation to
something that is individually important to each of us. There was a time I
believed we could do something; that we could change the world or at least our
country. But now, I think we are equally as responsible for the wreck that is
about to commence and of course few will agree. Unfortunately, I think it's too
late to do anything about the barreling train heading straight for the soul of
who we are. Or, is it who we've become?
People have believed and understood conspiracies for
centuries. They are nothing new, but what is new is how many people believe and
understand; how the tools of dissemination are so much more powerful just like
the tools of war; and how the collective rage and fear has taken on an almost
"Bring it on" fervor.
Today I came across a story about a man
who sent an open letter to the president. Below are some excerpts,
"On this issue
let me be blunt: after the many abuses of our rights through the decades, not
just your administration, but others even more egregious, we have come to a
point where we have had enough."
"Here's
the fact of the matter: we have had enough. We will resist at all
costs your efforts, because we know the result."
"Now, I
understand that you have armies; you have federal officers. I do not
underestimate the power of the federal government, or its agents. I do not mean
to call them out, but neither shall we yield to that raw force that you
represent with guns and tanks."
"What I am
telling you is that there is a breaking point, a point at which we will go no
further and will die to prove it."
"You are
welcome to ask me how many I am willing to kill to retain my rights as soon as
you are willing to answer my question: How many are you willing to kill to get
them?"
The entire piece is about uprising and revolution. A not
so-veiled-threat and in the writers comments he says his words were,
"...calculated
for effect on the public."
Their effect on the public, not their effect on the President to which
his letter is addressed. This is a rally call to rise up. With guns. And
the call is being made by many.
