The military court-martial trial of Pvt. Bradley Manning just took a distinct turn for the worst.
That came yesterday as military Judge Col. Denise Lind upheld the charge of "aiding the enemy" indicating she's probably preparing to find him guilty which could bring a life sentence with no chance for parole.
Let's be straight forward about that happening: from here If Bradley Manning is found guilty then we're all guilty.
And the U.S. government is the most complicit and guilty of all keeping him in solitary for over a year and a half without charges, then bringing him up on bogus charges for his leaking the truth to WikiLeaks, particularly the classified war crime video of a U.S. Apache helicopter gunship indiscriminately killing innocents and a Reuters reporter for sport in Iraq in April, 2007; that incident, plus numerous other documents revealing the U.S. as perpetrator in its wrongful and illegal war and occupation in Iraq.
It's hard to imagine Judge Lind not being "briefed" by the Obama administration as to what verdict they expect in convicting Manning for "aiding the enemy" as well as the other charges against him.
Whistleblowers exposing the administrations extra --legal and clandestine practices have been hounded and prosecuted as enemies of the state rather than the true patriots they are in revealing the truth.
But the "truth" is an anathema to our rogue government and the corporate media that have become triumphalist cheer leaders for that government.
Instead of exposing the government's wrongdoing, the clear intention of the founders establishing a free press as part of the 1 st Amendment and expecting that free press to hold that government accountable, which should be automatic in a free and just democracy. However our corporate controlled media is an enabler of that government instead of being the governments natural adversary.
